What the heck? captcha?

Today I was reenabling POP access from my computer to Gmail. Very weird, as the POP access was failing, but the web interface was working (logged out, in again, so I was sure I had the password right)
After googling a bit, I found google has a page for unlocking the POP access at
http://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
